DALLAS, Texas — A notably mild and springlike weather pattern is expected to dominate much of Texas through the Valentine’s Day weekend and into late February, with daytime temperatures climbing well above seasonal averages from Feb. 14 through Feb. 20.
Across North Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, afternoon highs are forecast to range from the low to mid-70s for much of the period. Overnight lows are expected to remain mild, generally settling into the upper 40s and low 50s. These temperatures are well above typical mid-February averages and may feel more like early spring than late winter.
Rain chances across much of the state appear limited. While weak disturbances could bring periods of increased cloud cover, widespread precipitation is not currently expected. Any rainfall that does occur is likely to be light and isolated, with most locations remaining dry for extended stretches.
Central and South Texas, including Austin and San Antonio, are expected to experience similar warmth, with highs frequently reaching the mid to upper 70s. Farther south, some locations may briefly approach 80 degrees during the warmest afternoons.
Winds are forecast to remain generally light to moderate, though breezy conditions could develop at times ahead of passing frontal boundaries. Any cold fronts moving through during this period are expected to be weak, offering only brief and minor temperature dips before warmer air returns.
Forecasters note that no significant cold air intrusions are expected during this time, allowing above-normal temperatures to persist across much of Texas through the third week of February.
