Corpus Christi, Texas – A steady warming trend is expected to take hold across South Texas through the remainder of the week, bringing springlike temperatures and dry conditions to end the year and begin 2026.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, cooler conditions early this week will give way to above-normal temperatures beginning Wednesday and continuing through the weekend. Skies are expected to remain mostly clear, with no significant rain chances forecast through Sunday.

High temperatures on Wednesday are expected to range from 63 to 69 degrees, followed by a noticeable warmup on New Year’s Day, when highs climb into the low to upper 70s. Overnight lows will also trend warmer, rising from the 40s and low 50s into the 50s and low 60s by late week.

The warmest conditions are forecast on Friday, when highs across the region are expected to reach 79 to 86 degrees, including the Corpus Christi, Kingsville, and Alice areas. Temperatures will remain elevated into the weekend, with highs generally ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s on Saturday and Sunday.

Forecasters say the warming trend is being driven by persistent high pressure, which will also keep winds relatively light and humidity levels low. While coastal areas may experience slightly cooler conditions due to onshore breezes, inland locations could see the highest temperatures.

The dry stretch will provide favorable conditions for outdoor activities, New Year’s events, and travel, though residents are reminded that unseasonably warm afternoons may contrast sharply with cooler mornings.

With the lack of rainfall, officials encourage residents to remain mindful of fire safety, particularly in grassy or rural areas where vegetation remains dry.

No hazardous weather is expected during this period, but residents are encouraged to continue monitoring forecasts as patterns change heading into next week. The latest updates are available at weather.gov/crp.
