Fort Worth, TX – Residents across North Texas should prepare for an active weather pattern starting Sunday with rain and falling temperatures dominating the forecast through midweek. Isolated showers are expected Sunday morning before rain intensifies Monday, with a strong cold front bringing the potential for freezing lows by Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, rain chances will peak Monday at 80%, with scattered storms possible but no severe weather expected. Rainfall totals could range from 0.5 to 1 inch, with the heaviest rainfall likely east of Interstate 35. Highs will remain in the upper 60s to low 70s through Tuesday before plummeting into the 50s Wednesday and Thursday.

Drivers should remain cautious as wet roadways could create slippery conditions, particularly during Monday’s evening commute. If traveling along I-35 or other major highways, reduce speed and allow extra time to reach your destination.

By Thursday morning, temperatures may dip into the low 30s across parts of North Texas, with frost or freezing conditions possible. Ensure outdoor plants are covered and exposed pipes are insulated.

Looking ahead, rain chances decrease after Wednesday, giving way to mostly sunny skies by Thursday and Friday. Highs will recover slightly, reaching the mid-50s to near 60 by the weekend.
