Amarillo, TX – Temperatures across the Texas Panhandle will climb into the mid-40s today, but freezing conditions will persist overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, Amarillo will reach a high of 45 degrees under clear, sunny skies on Tuesday. However, tonight’s low will drop to 22 degrees, with wind chills making it feel even colder. Residents should bundle up and take precautions to protect pets and outdoor plants from freezing conditions.
Sunny weather will continue through Friday, with daytime highs gradually rising into the low 60s. Nights will remain cold, with temperatures hovering in the mid-20s. By Saturday, cooler air will return, bringing a high of 36 degrees and a 50% chance of snow showers by nightfall.
Drivers should remain cautious of icy patches on roadways during the early mornings, especially along I-40 and other high-traffic routes.
