Texas – Dark clouds hang low and ભારે humidity clings to the air as scattered thunderstorms begin to flare across Houston, bringing quick bursts of rain and lightning that can disrupt travel within minutes. Wet pavement is already developing along I-45 and the 610 Loop.

According to the National Weather Service, storm coverage reaches up to 50% this afternoon, with southeast winds between 10 and 15 mph and gusts near 25 mph. Rainfall totals remain generally light, but isolated thunderstorms may produce heavier pockets above a tenth of an inch.

Across Houston, Sugar Land, and Pasadena, drivers should expect sudden slowdowns where storms pass. Visibility may briefly drop during heavier showers. Keep headlights on and allow extra stopping distance, especially on elevated ramps and feeder roads.

Conditions ease slightly heading into Monday, with only a 20% chance of lingering showers and highs climbing into the low 80s. By Tuesday, a noticeable shift arrives. Skies turn partly sunny, and rain chances drop off, offering a break from the unsettled spring pattern.

Midweek stays relatively calm, with highs in the low to mid-80s and only isolated storm chances returning late Wednesday. This quieter stretch may not last long, as Gulf moisture remains nearby and could fuel additional rain chances later in the week.

For now, keep an eye on the sky and plan around passing storms this afternoon. Quick changes remain likely through the evening hours.

Five Day Forecast for Houston, Texas:
Monday: Slight chance of storms, high 83°F
Tuesday: Partly sunny, high 83°F
Wednesday: Partly sunny, high 83°F
Thursday: Partly sunny, high 87°F
Friday: Partly sunny, high 85°F
