Lone Star, TX – An EF2 tornado that struck on April 4, 2025, in Morris County, Texas, caused significant damage as it traveled across the Ellison Creek Reservoir and the north side of Lone Star. The tornado touched down at 5:32 PM CDT and continued for nine minutes, reaching its peak winds of 120 mph.
According to the National Weather Service Shreveport, the tornado’s path stretched over 4 miles and reached a maximum width of 673 yards. The storm, which moved northeast, caused destruction in its wake, but no immediate reports of injuries have been confirmed.
The EF2 classification indicates the tornado had the potential to cause considerable damage to well-built homes and trees, with a notable risk to mobile homes and structures lacking proper reinforcement.
