El Paso, Texas – Storms are set to return to El Paso by Friday afternoon, kicking off a weekend of unstable summer weather and potential hazards. Drivers along I-10 and US-54 should prepare for slick roads, ponding, and sudden downpours between 4 and 8 p.m. Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, a 50% chance of thunderstorms begins Friday afternoon, with most activity expected after 4 p.m. Rainfall totals may stay under a tenth of an inch but could spike under stronger storms.
