Amarillo, Texas – Storms could return to the Texas Panhandle by Tuesday night, with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms developing in Amarillo between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, scattered showers and isolated storms may form late Tuesday night, potentially bringing brief downpours, lightning, and gusty winds. Some storms could produce small hail or localized wind damage. Winds from the southwest will shift northward after midnight, with temperatures falling into the mid-60s.

During the day Tuesday, Amarillo will see mostly sunny skies with a high near 90°F. West winds around 5 mph will give way to a breezy southwesterly flow in the evening. Drivers along I-40 should remain weather-aware, especially during late-night travel.

Wednesday brings calmer conditions and rising temperatures. Expect sunny skies with highs in the low 90s and southwest winds reaching 15 mph by afternoon. No rain is expected Wednesday or Thursday.
