San Angelo, Texas – Blistering summer heat returns to West Central Texas Saturday, with San Angelo expected to hit 97°F under clear, sunny skies.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will climb steadily through the weekend, peaking near 98°F on Sunday. Winds from the south will pick up to 15 mph Saturday and Sunday, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. Drivers along US-87 and Route 67 should travel with water and avoid prolonged vehicle idling.
By Monday, highs remain near 97°F with mostly sunny skies and only a slight 30% chance of thunderstorms late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Rain is unlikely to bring much relief, and most of the region will remain dry through early next week.
Despite the brief rain chance Monday night, the pattern stays dry and hot through July 2. Those planning early Fourth of July celebrations should monitor Tuesday night’s 20% rain chance but expect mostly clear skies overall.
