San Antonio, Texas – Summer heat ramps up across South Texas on Tuesday as San Antonio braces for a high of 93°F, with the heat index pushing 100° by midday. The National Weather Service warns that prolonged exposure, especially along heavily traveled corridors like I-35 and Loop 410, could increase the risk of heat-related illness.
According to the NWS office in Austin/San Antonio, southeast winds of up to 10 mph will do little to ease the discomfort. Tuesday’s conditions follow a blistering Monday, and the trend is set to continue all week. Humidity levels will remain high, making even early morning hours feel oppressive. Outdoor workers, athletes, and vulnerable populations should limit activity between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Residents are urged to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, and avoid leaving pets or people in parked vehicles. Consider checking on elderly neighbors, especially as temperatures are expected to remain in the 90s through Sunday.
While no official heat advisory is currently in effect, the National Weather Service notes that “feels like” temperatures could exceed 101° during the day on both Tuesday and Thursday.
