San Antonio, TX – Spring storms are expected to surge across Texas this week, bringing thunderstorms, heavy showers, and potential travel delays in the San Antonio area.
Locals along I-35 should prepare for wet roadways and reduced visibility beginning late Wednesday night. According to the National Weather Service, a 90% chance of thunderstorms is forecast for early Thursday, with the storm system expected to linger through Friday afternoon.
Wednesday begins with partly cloudy skies and a high of 85°F before shifting to scattered showers and isolated storms late in the evening. Wind gusts may reach 20 mph overnight, increasing risks for hazardous driving and power disruptions.
The heaviest rain arrives Thursday morning, with widespread showers and thunderstorms likely until late Friday. Daytime highs will drop into the low 70s with overnight lows in the mid-60s. South and east winds will continue at 10 to 15 mph, occasionally gusting up to 20 mph.
By the weekend, conditions are expected to clear. Saturday will bring sunshine and a high near 87°F, followed by a mild Sunday with a high of 83°F.
