San Antonio, TX – A Red Flag Warning is in effect today for much of South-Central Texas as gusty winds and dry air create dangerous fire conditions. With warm spring temperatures settling in, officials urge residents to avoid outdoor burning and be prepared for shifting winds throughout the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, the warning remains in effect from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday due to northwest winds reaching 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Humidity levels will drop to 10-20%, significantly increasing the risk of fast-spreading wildfires. The most affected areas include San Antonio, Bexar County, and surrounding regions such as Comal, Guadalupe, and Kendall Counties.

Sunday will bring clear skies and highs in the upper 60s, with lighter winds improving conditions. However, the fire danger remains elevated as dry air lingers into the new week. Monday and Tuesday will see gradual warming, with highs climbing to the mid-70s and 80s, while overnight lows stay in the mid-40s to 50s.

Five-Day Forecast for San Antonio

• Sunday: Sunny, high of 67°F, light north winds.

• Monday: Clear skies, high of 75°F, calm winds.

• Tuesday: Warmer, high of 81°F, breezy south winds.

• Wednesday: Spring heat returns, high of 85°F.

• Thursday: Hot and sunny, high near 91°F.
