Houston, Texas – Texans heading outside this weekend should prepare for a sharp heat rise and an approaching midweek storm system. Houston will climb into the mid-80s starting Saturday, with the risk of thunderstorms returning by Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 84°F, with calm winds from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday follows with continued warmth and decreasing clouds, pushing highs to 85°F—marking one of the warmest weekends of the spring so far.

By Wednesday, a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms may disrupt outdoor plans and impact early commutes along I-45 and I-69. Rainfall could arrive earlier in the day, making morning travel especially hazardous. A 30% rain chance lingers into Thursday, signaling an extended wet stretch as the month ends.

While Monday and Tuesday remain mostly dry, temperatures will hover near 85°F under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Residents are urged to stay hydrated and limit extended sun exposure during peak hours, especially during weekend outdoor events.
