Fort Worth, TX – A relentless heat wave will continue to grip Texas through next week, bringing dangerously high temperatures across the region. This weekend, temperatures are forecast to climb between 102°F and 113°F, with the heat index reaching even higher. The National Weather Service in Fort Worth issued an advisory, urging residents to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor activities.
According to the forecast, Fort Worth will see temperatures peaking at 104°F on Saturday, 105°F on Sunday, and a blistering 106°F on Monday. Other cities in the region, including Waco, Killeen, and Mineral Wells, will also endure extreme heat, with temperatures consistently exceeding 100°F through Wednesday.
The heat index, which accounts for humidity and temperature, will make conditions feel even more oppressive, ranging between 102°F and 113°F. Prolonged exposure to such conditions significantly increases the risk of heat-related illnesses, including heat stroke and dehydration.
Residents are advised to drink plenty of water, wear light-colored clothing, and limit outdoor activities to the cooler parts of the day. It’s also crucial to recognize symptoms of heat illness, such as dizziness, nausea, and rapid heartbeat.
