According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, a Red Flag Warning remains in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday, with critical fire conditions expected to persist through the weekend. Winds will shift from the southwest to the northeast over the next few days, with gusts reaching up to 25 mph on Friday and Saturday.

Five-Day Forecast for Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle

• Friday: Sunny with a high of 65°F. Northeast winds 10-20 mph, gusts up to 25 mph.
