According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, wind chills could plummet to 25 degrees below zero, increasing the risk of frostbite and hypothermia for anyone exposed to the cold for extended periods. Officials warn that frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes on unprotected skin.
