Amarillo, TX – Residents across the Texas Panhandle can expect a warm and mostly dry weekend, with daytime highs in the 80s Saturday and slightly cooler temperatures by Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, the only chance for rain will be in far western and southwestern parts of the Panhandle along the New Mexico state line. That area carries just a 10% chance of isolated showers later Saturday afternoon and evening. Most of the region, including Amarillo and surrounding cities, will remain dry.

Saturday’s forecast calls for widespread highs in the mid-80s, with locations such as Amarillo, Pampa, and Clarendon reaching around 86 to 88 degrees. Dalhart, near the New Mexico border, could see the slight shower activity.

On Sunday, temperatures will dip a few degrees, with highs ranging from the lower 80s in Boise City and Dalhart to upper 80s in Beaver and Perryton. Skies will remain mostly sunny, with clouds increasing slightly in the west.

The National Weather Service notes that no significant storm systems are expected this weekend, and travel impacts should be minimal. Residents can plan for warm afternoons and comfortable evenings as the area transitions into early fall.
