Amarillo, Texas – Storm chances linger across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles Tuesday, but Amarillo dries out fast and turns seasonable. Keep an eye on I‑40, I‑27, and US‑287 if a stray cell develops.

According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, the city holds only a 10% chance of showers before 7 a.m. Tuesday, then turns sunny with a high near 87. Light southwest winds shift to the northeast by afternoon. Elsewhere in the Panhandles, a few storms could still pulse with damaging wind or large hail.

Sun returns midweek for most of the region. Highs reach near 90 Wednesday, then around 95 Thursday with a south breeze and occasional gusts. Friday stays mostly sunny near 94.

A weak disturbance may nudge storm chances back on Sunday, while Saturday trends sunny near 92. We’ll update if watches or warnings are issued for the Panhandles.
