Amarillo, Texas – The National Weather Service in Amarillo reports that temperatures will begin to slowly warm up Monday, marking the start of a gradual rebound from the recent cold spell across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandles.
Morning wind chills are expected to range from the single digits to teens, but temperatures will rise into the upper 20s to mid-30s by afternoon, with highs near 40°F in the southern Panhandle.
A few light snow flurries may occur early in the day, especially across northern and northeastern areas, before skies clear and conditions remain dry.
Residents are advised to dress warmly if heading outdoors this morning, as breezy conditions will make it feel colder despite the modest afternoon warm-up.
