Splendora, TX – A large-scale emergency response unfolded at Splendora High School Thursday morning after a reported stabbing triggered a campus lockdown, but investigators now say the incident was a hoax.

The situation began around 8:45 a.m. when a teacher activated a panic alarm, prompting an immediate lockdown and response from school resource officers already on campus. Within minutes, law enforcement agencies across Montgomery County converged on the school, with roughly 100 personnel working to secure the परिसर and ensure student safety.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, detectives quickly launched an investigation, reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and collecting evidence. Authorities determined that no assault had occurred and that the reported injuries were self-inflicted. Investigators concluded the incident was fabricated.

The teacher, identified as 53-year-old Nicole Truelove, has been taken into custody and charged with felony tampering with evidence and making a false report. Officials say she had been employed with Splendora ISD for about a year.

Students and staff were kept safe throughout the incident, and authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the school or surrounding community. The lockdown was lifted after the परिसर was cleared.

Sheriff’s officials emphasized that all threats involving schools are treated with the highest level of urgency, regardless of origin. The response included coordination between multiple agencies, including local police, constables, and state officials.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and urge the public to take school safety incidents seriously, noting that false reports can divert critical resources and cause widespread disruption.
