Austin, TX – More than 40 people, including minors, were taken into custody early Tuesday morning during a large-scale operation targeting suspected members and associates of a Venezuelan transnational gang in Hays County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the arrests stem from a yearlong investigation into individuals allegedly linked to Tren de Aragua (TdA), a violent Venezuelan gang. The FBI, ICE, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, San Antonio Police Department and multiple federal and local agencies collaborated in the effort.
Authorities executed a search warrant at a residence where drugs and other evidence were seized. State and federal prosecutors are evaluating potential charges.
