Dallas, TX — A hazardous air quality alert has been issued for the Dallas-Fort Worth area today, with residents urged to take precautions against elevated ozone levels. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has declared an Ozone Action Day for Thursday, warning that pollution could peak in the afternoon. This may affect outdoor activities, especially for sensitive groups like children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to hit 94°F today with mostly clear skies and calm winds. The air quality could deteriorate due to these stagnant conditions, increasing ozone formation. Residents are advised to limit time outdoors, use carpooling or public transportation, and avoid activities like lawn mowing and using gas-powered equipment during peak hours.

Heading into the weekend, temperatures are forecast to remain in the low-to-mid 90s, with sunny skies on Friday and Saturday. Nights will bring relief with lows in the high 60s. The weekend looks mostly clear, with Saturday seeing a high of 92°F. Sunday’s forecast predicts 93°F under sunny skies. Next week, temperatures will cool slightly, but air quality concerns may persist if wind conditions don’t improve.
