San Antonio, TX – South Texas is bracing for record-breaking heat Saturday, with temperatures expected to soar into the upper 80s. The National Weather Service forecasts that the early-season heatwave will peak before a cold front brings relief Sunday.

According to the NWS Austin-San Antonio office, highs will range from 81°F to 88°F across the region, with San Antonio expected to reach 88°F. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with light southeast winds. Overnight, temperatures will drop to the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday will bring a shift, with a weak cold front moving through, slightly cooling temperatures to the low 80s. Monday starts mild but transitions as a secondary front arrives late, bringing increased cloud cover and a chance for scattered showers. Thunderstorms are possible Tuesday, with some storms bringing gusty winds and heavy rain.

Residents should stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure Saturday. The record warmth may impact outdoor events and road conditions, especially in urban areas prone to heat retention.

By Wednesday, temperatures will settle into the 70s, with occasional rain chances. Stay updated with the latest weather alerts to prepare for potential storm impacts early next week.
