Corpus Christi, Texas – Scorching heat and sporadic storms will continue to grip South Texas through Thursday, with heat index values climbing as high as 105° and isolated showers lingering in the forecast.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Saturday brings a 15–25% chance of showers and storms across the Brush Country and southern Coastal Plains, especially near Freer, Cotulla, and Alice. High temperatures will range from the upper 80s along the coast to the mid-90s inland, with humidity driving heat index values above the century mark in many areas.
Tilden and Freer could see highs near 94°, while Corpus Christi tops out around 87°. Beeville and Rockport will hover near 90°, with slim chances of afternoon storms providing brief relief. Rainfall, where it occurs, is expected to be short-lived.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets. Beachgoers can expect low rip current risk, but UV levels remain high.
Low rain chances persist through midweek, with the best shot at measurable rain arriving Thursday. Triple-digit heat will stay locked in, especially inland, so heat safety remains a top priority through the first week of June.
