Corpus Christi, Texas – Relentless heat will grip South Texas through Thursday, with daily highs between 100°F and 105°F in the Rio Grande Plains and no rain in the forecast.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, cities like Laredo, Cotulla, and Tilden are expected to reach or exceed 103°F, with Freer, Alice, and Beeville hovering near the century mark. Along the coast, Corpus Christi, Rockport, and Port Lavaca will see highs between 90°F and 94°F, paired with oppressive humidity.

The extreme heat combined with dry conditions will heighten fire danger inland. The UV index remains in the “Extreme” category, especially for beachgoers at Port Aransas and Bob Hall Pier, where water temperatures are in the mid-80s but rip current risk stays low.

Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. Local officials recommend keeping pets indoors and avoiding car travel without proper cooling.

This is the first extended dry spell with triple-digit highs since early June, and there are no signs of a break in the pattern.

Heat advisories remain possible through Thursday as temperatures hold steady and rain chances stay near zero.
