Houston, Texas – Temperatures across Southeast Texas are climbing into the mid-90s Thursday, with heat index values pushing 100°F, creating sweltering afternoon conditions for much of the Houston-Galveston region.
According to the National Weather Service in Houston, highs will range from 93°F to 95°F in cities like College Station, Brenham, and Houston. Areas near Livingston and eastern counties may also experience isolated showers or thunderstorms this afternoon, offering slight relief from the heat.
Communities including Sugar Land, Conroe, and Huntsville will all feel the intensity of early summer heat, while residents near Liberty and Anahuac will see slightly cooler temps in the upper 80s to low 90s. Motorists are urged to stay hydrated and avoid extended outdoor exposure, especially during peak heat hours.
Tonight, cloud cover will settle in, keeping temperatures mild with lows in the mid to upper 70s. Houston and surrounding areas, including Galveston and The Woodlands, are expected to remain mostly cloudy overnight, offering little cooling relief.
Heat safety remains critical. More advisories may follow if storm activity increases or heat conditions worsen through the weekend.
