Corpus Christi, Texas – Triple-digit temperatures are returning to South Texas this weekend, with a chance of scattered thunderstorms Saturday afternoon that could bring brief relief to parts of the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, daytime highs will range from 90° to 103° through Wednesday, with the hottest conditions expected Tuesday and Wednesday. A 40% chance of showers and isolated storms is possible Saturday, mainly in the afternoon and evening, dropping to 30% on Sunday. Areas west of I-37, including Tilden and Laredo, will see the highest heat, topping out around 101° to 103°.

Cities like Corpus Christi, Beeville, and Rockport can expect humid conditions and “feels-like” temperatures well above 105°. Coastal residents should note a low risk of rip currents, but UV exposure will remain extreme, making sunscreen and hydration essential.

Drivers should remain alert for slick roads if storms develop, especially along US-59 and Highway 77. Outdoor activities should be limited during peak heat hours, and residents are urged to check on vulnerable neighbors.

The heat dome is expected to persist into midweek. More advisories may be issued if temperatures remain elevated or storms intensify.
