Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texas faces another sweltering day with highs in the upper 90s and only a slight chance of isolated showers across the Coastal Plains through Monday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, rain chances range from 20–30% early Monday before tapering off by evening. Overnight lows will hover in the mid to upper 70s under partly cloudy skies. Winds from the southeast at 15 mph will offer little relief as inland cities like Cotulla, Beeville, and Alice see peak temperatures between 95°F and 98°F.
Coastal communities including Rockport and Corpus Christi may experience brief showers, but the bigger concern remains heat and UV exposure. The South Texas beachcast warns of extreme UV levels and a low but present rip current risk. Water temperatures are in the mid-80s, with wave heights up to four feet. Swimmers should avoid piers and jetties and swim parallel to shore if caught in a rip current.
Rain chances increase midweek, with a 50% likelihood of scattered storms by Wednesday. The hot pattern holds through Friday, with minimal overnight cooling.
Warnings remain in effect for heat and UV exposure; updated advisories expected by Tuesday.
