Corpus Christi, Texas – Sweltering conditions will grip the Coastal Bend through the weekend, with actual highs in the 90s and heat index values topping 110°F from Victoria to Beeville by midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, onshore flow is pushing temperatures well above normal, with highs Monday already reaching 93°F in Beeville and 91°F in Victoria. Heat index values across South Texas are expected to range from 100° to 114° through Saturday, peaking on Wednesday and Friday.
Cities like Alice, Cotulla, and Freer could see daily highs between 95° and 98°F, while humidity drives the “feels-like” temperatures even higher. Along the coast, places like Port Lavaca and Rockport will feel less intense but still humid, with highs in the upper 80s and heat indices near 108°F.
Residents should limit outdoor activity between 1 and 6 p.m., stay hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors. The combination of heat and humidity increases the risk of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
This early-season heat wave is one of the most intense May warmups in recent years.
Heat advisories may be issued midweek. Conditions are expected to persist through at least Saturday, with updates from the NWS anticipated daily.
