Sunday’s high will reach 83°F, with west-southwest winds shifting to the east. The low Sunday night dips to 64°F with a lingering 30% chance of overnight showers before conditions dry out Monday.
Localized ponding remains a risk in low-lying areas. Drivers should avoid flooded roads and allow extra travel time. Outdoor events in Amarillo and neighboring towns like Canyon and Dumas should monitor skies before noon Sunday.
Looking ahead, Monday through Thursday brings more classic summer conditions. Highs will steadily climb from 85°F Monday to near 90°F by Wednesday, with storm chances increasing midweek. Both Wednesday and Thursday nights carry a 40% chance of thunderstorms.
