San Antonio, Texas – Heavy rainfall overnight into Monday evening could trigger dangerous flash flooding across Central Texas, with the Hill Country and I-35 corridor under a Flood Watch through 7 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio, an additional 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected across the region, with localized amounts reaching up to 10 inches. The threat stems from slow-moving thunderstorms and high rainfall rates, especially in areas already saturated from recent storms.

Scattered showers are forecast to intensify overnight near the I-35 corridor—including cities like San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Georgetown—and gradually spread west into the Hill Country. Areas along the Guadalupe River and low-lying zones near highways could see rapid runoff and flash flooding, particularly in counties like Hays, Comal, and Kerr.

Drivers are urged to avoid low-water crossings and monitor local road closures. Emergency officials advise residents to charge devices, secure belongings, and prepare for sudden weather alerts.

The risk will remain elevated until Monday evening, with additional Flash Flood Warnings possible if storms stall or train over the same locations.
