San Angelo, TX — Heavy rainfall and flash flooding continue to pose a threat across San Angelo as storms persist through the weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood watch and flash flood warning for San Angelo and surrounding areas, urging residents to avoid low water crossings and stay alert to rising water levels. Officials emphasize that the risk of flash flooding is especially high along major roadways such as College Hills Blvd and areas near Loop 306, where water accumulation can quickly lead to hazardous driving conditions.

According to the NWS, up to 3.5 inches of rain have already fallen in parts of Tom Green County, with additional rainfall expected through Friday evening. More thunderstorms are likely, potentially producing up to 2-4 inches of additional rainfall in some areas by Saturday. Roads, creeks, and low-lying areas are most at risk for sudden flooding, with significant threats to both public safety and transportation. As of now, the flash flood warning remains in effect until early Saturday morning, urging San Angelo residents to avoid flooded roads and heed safety advisories.

The forecast predicts a brief clearing on Saturday night, with cooler, clearer weather expected for Sunday. Looking ahead, Veterans Day on Monday should bring sunny skies with temperatures reaching a high of 76 degrees, offering a respite from the stormy weather. However, intermittent storms may return by midweek, with temperatures hovering near 80 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday.
