Texas Flood Warning: Rising River Levels Threaten Multiple Counties

Shreveport, LA – Several rivers across East Texas remain under Flood Warnings as rising waters continue to impact local communities. Minor flooding is forecast along the Angelina, Neches, and Sabine Rivers, as well as Rabbit Creek, prompting officials to urge residents to stay cautious.

Angelina River Near Lufkin

The Angelina River is expected to reach 161.9 feet by early Wednesday, surpassing its flood stage of 161.0 feet. This will cause minor lowland flooding in Nacogdoches, Angelina, and Cherokee counties.

Neches River Near Neches

The Neches River is set to rise above flood stage Friday afternoon, cresting at 13.8 feet by Sunday morning. This will result in lowland flooding, requiring livestock and equipment to be moved to higher ground.

Sabine River Near Mineola

The Sabine River is projected to rise above flood stage Friday morning, reaching 17.4 feet by Sunday morning. Flooded roads and pastures are expected in Wood and Smith counties, with water overflowing the FM 1804 bridge approaches.

Rabbit Creek at Kilgore

Water levels at Rabbit Creek in Gregg County peaked at 10.7 feet overnight but are expected to fall below flood stage by Friday morning.
