Lufkin, TX – Minor flooding continues to impact East Texas, with flood warnings in place for the Angelina River near Lufkin and Attoyac Bayou near Chireno. The National Weather Service issued alerts late Monday, highlighting the ongoing risk for residents in Angelina, Cherokee, Nacogdoches, Shelby, Rusk, and San Augustine counties.

According to the National Weather Service, the Angelina River near Lufkin is currently at 164.3 feet, just above flood stage. Flooding is expected to continue for several days, particularly affecting gravel access roads. The Attoyac Bayou near Chireno is also under flood warning, with the river rising to 18.9 feet. Minor flooding of lowland areas, including boat ramps and pastures, is forecast. Residents are advised to move livestock and equipment to higher ground.
