Corpus Christi, TX – Texas coastal residents should remain vigilant today as Hurricane Milton, an extreme Category 5 storm, approaches the U.S. Southeast. Although Corpus Christi is not directly in its path, the National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for the area, predicting minor flooding and dangerous rip currents through Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, the advisory will remain in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday. The Gulf waters are expected to bring coastal flooding of up to 1.5 feet, particularly affecting low-lying areas and beaches. Dangerous rip currents also pose a hazard for swimmers and surfers. Residents are urged to avoid entering the water and to steer clear of affected coastal roads, as hazardous conditions may intensify with the storm’s progression.

Looking ahead, Corpus Christi can expect sunny and clear weather for the remainder of the week. High temperatures will reach near 87 degrees today and Thursday, with light winds from the northeast gradually shifting to the east. Nightly lows will dip into the upper 60s, with clear skies prevailing through the weekend. Despite the tranquil weather, residents are advised to monitor local updates and prepare for potential shifts as the hurricane nears Florida’s coast.
