Shreveport, LA – Flood warnings remain in effect across parts of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Mississippi as multiple rivers continue to rise, prompting concerns for residents in low-lying areas.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Shreveport, minor flooding is occurring and expected to continue along several rivers. In Texas, the Angelina River near Lufkin, Neches River near Neches, and Sabine River near Mineola are experiencing elevated water levels, with some areas forecasted to remain above flood stage through Wednesday.

In Arkansas and Louisiana, the Ouachita River at Felsenthal Lock and Dam and Bayou Dorcheat near Springhill are also under flood warnings. The Ouachita River is expected to fall gradually, while Bayou Dorcheat is set to crest at 12.5 feet on Saturday morning, potentially impacting private boat ramps and livestock areas.

Further south, the Mississippi River at Red River Landing in Louisiana remains above flood stage at 50.9 feet and is forecasted to recede below flood levels by Tuesday evening. The Pearl River near Bogalusa and Pearl River, which affects both Louisiana and Mississippi, is anticipated to crest early next week, causing concerns for surrounding lowlands and wildlife management areas.

Officials urge residents to avoid driving through flooded roadways and exercise caution near riverbanks. The NWS will issue updates as conditions change.
