Texarkana, AR – The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for southwest Arkansas, warning that visibility may drop to one-quarter mile or less through 9 a.m. CST Saturday.

The advisory includes Sevier, Howard, Little River, Hempstead, Nevada, Miller, Lafayette, Columbia, and Union Counties, covering cities such as Texarkana, Hope, Magnolia, De Queen, and El Dorado.

Forecasters caution that the fog could make driving conditions hazardous, particularly along Highways 67, 82, and 371, as well as rural and low-lying areas. Drivers should slow down, use headlights, and leave extra distance between vehicles to avoid accidents.

Conditions are expected to improve gradually by late morning as the fog lifts with increasing sunlight and warming temperatures. However, isolated pockets of fog may linger longer near rivers and wooded areas.

This morning’s dense fog developed under light winds and high humidity, common for early November mornings across the region.
