Nashville, TN – Drivers across Nashville could face wet roads overnight Sunday and slick spots early Monday as severe thunderstorms quickly transition to rain and snow across Middle Tennessee.
Saturday remains quiet and warm across Davidson County with sunny skies pushing temperatures to around 75°F, offering ideal conditions for outdoor plans across the metro area.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, conditions turn more active Sunday as temperatures rise to around 76°F with strengthening winds and increasing cloud cover. Southerly winds may gust up to 35 mph during the afternoon ahead of an approaching storm system.
Severe thunderstorms are possible Sunday night, with rain expected to develop before 4 a.m. Monday. Some storms could bring gusty winds and brief heavy rainfall across the Nashville metro and surrounding counties.
As colder air moves into the region late Sunday night, rain may begin mixing with snow before daybreak Monday. Snow showers could linger through the early morning hours Monday, though significant accumulation is not expected.
The storm system will also bring breezy conditions Monday with west wind gusts up to 30 mph, which may reduce visibility in passing snow showers and create difficult travel on I-40, I-24, and I-65 during the morning commute.
Colder air settles into Middle Tennessee Monday night with lows dropping to around 21°F. Sunshine returns Tuesday with highs near 41°F, followed by milder conditions returning to the Nashville area by midweek.
