Nashville, TN – A rainy start to the week is in store for Nashville and surrounding areas as widespread showers move through the region. Residents should prepare for up to 2 inches of rainfall, slick roads, and potential minor flooding through Wednesday night.
According to the National Weather Service, rain will begin Monday afternoon and continue into Tuesday evening, with another wave expected Tuesday night through Wednesday. Total rainfall amounts are forecast to reach 1.5 to 2 inches in areas north of Nashville, including Clarksville and Waverly, while Middle Tennessee cities such as Smithville and Columbia can expect around 1 to 1.5 inches.

The forecast calls for a slight break on Tuesday during the day, with partly sunny skies and highs near 61°F. However, showers will return Tuesday evening, intensifying overnight into Wednesday. Thunderstorms are possible by midweek, with temperatures holding steady in the low 60s. Cooler conditions will arrive by Wednesday night, dropping temperatures into the mid-30s.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Middle Tennessee can expect a drier pattern with mostly sunny skies and daytime highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Nighttime lows, however, will dip into the mid-20s, so residents should prepare for chilly mornings.
