Memphis, TN – A slow-moving cold front is bringing drier air and cloud cover to northern portions of the Mid-South, promising a respite from the recent heatwave. The National Weather Service in Memphis issued a heat advisory effective today from 11 AM to 7 PM, with heat indices expected to reach 105°F or higher.
According to the National Weather Service, this cold front will gradually move south, providing relief from the oppressive heat. Residents are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities and to stay hydrated to mitigate the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Today’s high is expected to reach 88°F under clear skies, with overnight temperatures dropping to a pleasant 73°F. Tomorrow, the high will climb to 91°F, but the arrival of the cold front will bring a significant change in weather patterns. Friday will see a high of 89°F with clear skies, followed by slightly cooler temperatures over the weekend.
Saturday’s high will be 87°F with partly cloudy skies, while Sunday is expected to be 88°F. The beginning of next week will bring even more relief, with Monday’s high reaching only 93°F, accompanied by partly cloudy conditions.
Residents can look forward to more comfortable weather conditions as the week progresses, with lower temperatures and increased cloud cover providing much-needed relief from the sweltering heat.
