Nashville, TN – Strong winds and thunderstorms are set to impact Tennessee this afternoon and evening, prompting a Wind Advisory across the region until 10 PM. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for severe weather, meaning strong storms are possible but not widespread.
According to the NWS, showers and thunderstorms will begin moving into the area by the afternoon. While the risk for severe weather remains low, stronger storms could produce damaging wind gusts up to 58 mph and small hail. Outside of storm activity, non-thunderstorm winds will also be a concern throughout the day, with sustained gusts reaching 35 to 45 mph.
The strongest winds are expected from 10 AM to 10 PM, potentially leading to power outages as tree limbs and unsecured objects become airborne. High-profile vehicles should exercise caution while traveling, and residents are advised to secure outdoor furniture and decorations to prevent wind damage.
The NWS recommends staying weather-aware throughout the day and monitoring local forecasts for updates. While severe weather is not expected to be widespread, localized strong storms and wind-related hazards could still pose risks to residents across Tennessee.
