Nashville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville is warning residents of strong to severe thunderstorms expected between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. tonight (Saturday), bringing the potential for damaging winds and a very low chance of a tornado.
Forecasters say storms will move from west to east overnight, with the main threat being wind gusts exceeding 60 mph. While the overall tornado risk remains low, the NWS cautions that any strong storm could produce brief, localized damage.
Since this is a nocturnal event, officials urge residents to ensure they have multiple ways to receive warnings, such as weather radios, mobile alerts, or local broadcasts that can wake you if warnings are issued overnight.
The system will move east of the area early Sunday morning, followed by cooler and breezy conditions through the remainder of the day.
