Nashville, Tennessee – Middle Tennessee is settling into an unusually warm weather pattern this week, with overnight temperatures from Wednesday through Saturday morning expected to run warmer than what is typically seen for daytime highs this time of year.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, low temperatures during the midweek period are projected to remain in the 50s across much of the region, well above late December averages. Daytime highs will climb into the upper 60s and low to mid-70s at times, creating a springlike feel across the state.
Rain chances increase beginning Tuesday and continue at times through the end of the week. Showers are expected to be scattered and generally light, but periods of rain could impact travel during the morning hours Wednesday and again late in the week. Widespread severe weather is not indicated at this time.
Cities including Nashville, Murfreesboro, Clarksville, Columbia, and Cookeville will all experience the mild stretch, with cloud cover and southerly breezes helping to keep nighttime temperatures elevated. The warmth may be noticeable overnight, with little need for heavy winter clothing during early morning hours.
Residents are encouraged to remain weather-aware as rain chances fluctuate and to take advantage of the calmer conditions between showers. This unseasonably mild pattern is expected to persist through Saturday, with additional updates likely if rainfall coverage or timing changes later this week.
