Nashville, Tennessee – A noticeable late-winter warm-up is taking shape across Tennessee, with temperatures climbing above normal through mid-February and delivering a stretch that feels more like early spring. The milder pattern is expected to improve travel conditions statewide and reduce energy demand after a colder start to the month.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the Feb. 9–15 outlook favors above-normal temperatures across nearly all of Tennessee. The strongest signal covers Middle and West Tennessee, placing much of the state firmly in a warmer-than-average pattern for this period.

In Middle Tennessee, including Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Franklin, afternoon highs are expected to reach the 50s on multiple days, easing concerns about icy roads during daylight hours. West Tennessee, including Memphis and Jackson, may see the most pronounced warmth, with sustained mild afternoons and comfortable evenings.

East Tennessee, including Knoxville and the Tri-Cities, also trends warmer, though temperatures there may fluctuate more due to terrain. Even so, the broader signal points away from prolonged cold across the region.

The warm-up comes with a notably dry pattern. No organized rain or winter weather systems are evident during this stretch, keeping flooding risks low but also limiting meaningful moisture.

Residents should still watch for cooler nights and patchy morning chill, but overall conditions look quiet and mild. Additional outlooks will determine whether the warmth holds as February moves forward.
