According to the National Weather Service, Monday will remain mostly sunny with a high of 54. Clouds will build overnight, bringing a low of 42 and the potential for showers starting early Tuesday. A 30% chance of rain is forecast for Tuesday afternoon, followed by a 70% likelihood of showers Tuesday night into Christmas Day.
The heaviest rain is expected on Christmas Day, with new precipitation amounts up to half an inch in some areas. Winds will stay calm Monday but shift from the southeast Tuesday, becoming gusty by Wednesday night. Despite the rain, temperatures will remain mild, peaking at 57 Tuesday and climbing to 61 Thursday.
Drivers should remain cautious, especially on major roads such as I-240 and I-40, where wet conditions may lead to slick surfaces during holiday travel. Thursday and Friday bring continued rain chances, with up to 60% likelihood and possible thunderstorms Friday night.
