Nashville, TN – Stormy skies will cap off the weekend in Tennessee, but residents can expect a bright, warm return to spring by Monday morning.

A mix of showers and thunderstorms will move through Nashville and surrounding areas Sunday afternoon, potentially impacting traffic along I-65. Storm activity is expected between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., with brief heavy rainfall and gusty winds up to 30 mph.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday’s high will reach 75°F, with new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter inch possible. Rain will taper off overnight, leading to partly cloudy skies and a low around 47°F. Winds will continue from the southwest, gusting as high as 25 mph.

Monday brings a notable weather shift as sunshine dominates and spring warmth settles in. Expect highs around 68°F with calmer winds. Tuesday and Wednesday will follow suit with highs in the low 70s and mostly sunny skies.

By Thursday, Nashville could see temperatures near 77°F, giving Middle Tennessee a true taste of spring. Rain chances return Friday with a 30 percent chance of showers, but no severe weather is currently expected.

Residents should remain weather-aware today and take precautions if traveling during the storm window, especially along major routes like I-65. Keep umbrellas and rain jackets handy through Sunday evening.
