Nashville, TN – A dangerous weather system is set to impact Middle Tennessee today, bringing damaging winds up to 80 mph, tornadoes, and large hail.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, severe storms will continue throughout the day, with the highest risk concentrated in areas under a Level 4 (Moderate Risk) warning, including Nashville, Clarksville, and Columbia. The greatest threats include widespread wind damage, possible EF-2 or stronger tornadoes, and hail up to golf-ball size. Storm activity is expected from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
A Flood Watch is also in effect through 1 a.m. Sunday, with rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches possible, increasing the risk of flash flooding, especially west of I-65.
Residents are urged to stay weather-aware, secure loose objects, and have multiple ways to receive warnings. Travel may become hazardous due to high winds and flash flooding, and power outages are possible.
