Nashville, Tennessee – Scattered thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected to impact Middle Tennessee throughout Sunday, with drivers in Nashville facing reduced visibility from patchy morning fog and the risk of localized street flooding later in the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, scattered showers and thunderstorms will persist into the evening, with high temperatures reaching between 82 and 90 degrees. The humidity will add to the discomfort, and the saturated ground could lead to brief pooling on roads, especially in low-lying areas like parts of Davidson and Williamson counties.

Thunderstorms may cause brief wind gusts and isolated lightning, making outdoor activities risky. Commuters and weekend travelers are urged to slow down in fog-prone zones, particularly along I-65 and I-24. If thunder roars, move indoors, and avoid flooded roadways at all costs.

This marks the third consecutive day of unstable weather in the region, typical for late June’s tropical air patterns across the Southeast.

Storm chances remain elevated into the evening hours. More scattered showers are likely to return Monday, so keep devices charged and stay tuned to NWS alerts.
