MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A warm, humid fall pattern across the Mid-South turns stormy late Saturday as a cold front sweeps through Shelby County, bringing a sharp cooldown by Sunday. Highs near 87°F Saturday will drop nearly 20 degrees by dawn Sunday, setting the stage for a sunny, comfortable end to the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, showers and thunderstorms are likely Saturday afternoon and evening along the I-40 and I-55 corridors. Gusty winds and brief downpours could slow travel across West Memphis, Germantown, and Collierville. Drivers are urged to check radar before traveling to football games, outdoor festivals, or pumpkin patches.

The Tennessee Emergency Management Agency advises residents to secure fall decorations and lightweight outdoor furniture before storms move in, as gusts could reach 25 mph. Rainfall totals are expected to stay below one inch but may briefly reduce visibility on major interstates.

By early Sunday, cooler, drier air takes over. Highs only reach the upper 60s, and skies turn brilliantly clear—perfect for outdoor plans, park walks, or visiting area pumpkin farms. Monday and Tuesday bring mild, sunny conditions ideal for early Halloween decorating or leaf viewing.

The longer-term outlook keeps mild, pleasant weather in place through midweek, with only a slight chance of midweek showers as another weak system brushes the region.
