Nashville, TN – Rain will move into Middle Tennessee late this afternoon, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions across major roadways, including I-40 and I-65. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts showers beginning around 5 p.m., continuing through the night with up to an inch of rainfall possible in some areas.

According to the NWS Nashville, a dry start to Saturday will give way to wet conditions by evening, as gusty winds up to 25 mph increase risks for evening commuters. Drivers are urged to slow down and remain cautious, especially during heavy downpours. Rain will linger overnight, with showers expected to taper off Sunday morning.

Sunday will remain cloudy with highs near 59°F and continued wind gusts. While rain is expected to diminish by midday, slick roads may persist, particularly for early morning drivers. Keep an umbrella handy if you’re heading out, as scattered showers are possible.

Looking ahead, Nashville can expect mostly dry conditions Monday with highs near 64°F, offering a brief break from the rain. However, another system moves in Tuesday night, bringing a 40% chance of showers. Temperatures will dip midweek, with lows in the 30s and highs struggling to reach 41°F by Wednesday.

Residents planning outdoor activities or holiday shopping are encouraged to monitor weather updates and prepare for fluctuating conditions. Travelers should allow extra time on the road this weekend, especially during peak rain hours tonight.
